Leaving A Legacy

Since 1845, The Academy has benefited from a long tradition of legacy giving in our donors’ Wills and we are grateful to these forward-thinking individuals for their generosity. A legacy ensures the shared values and vision of former pupils and The Academy continue, while also providing means to support and advance future generations of Academy children. Our donors may leave their gift to The Academy to invest wherever our need is greatest, or specify a project or passion such as bursaries, sport etc. As your will is a personal and important document, we recommend consulting your own legal advisers for drafting a new will, updating an existing one or making any future plans with your estate. If you would like to discuss leaving a legacy to The Glasgow Academy, please get in touch with the Development Team at externalrelations@tga.org.uk.

“I have chosen to support The Glasgow Academy with a gift in my Will and have indicated I wish for this to go to support bursaries. I want to enable children to attend the school whose parents’ financial situation would otherwise make this unlikely. I hope they will experience the rich academy and co-curricular offerings and warm sense of community that meant so much to me.”
