Newlands / Monday, November 20, 2017 Tree planting at TGA Newlands

TGA Newlands Kindergarten along with our Nursery friends from Kelvinbridge, planted saplings generously donated by The Woodland Trust, Scotland.

We planted Silver Birch, Cherry Blossom, Hazel and Dogwood Trees as part of a mass countrywide planting organised by The Woodland Trust with support from Sainsbury's, IKEA FAMILY, players of People's Postcode Lottery and Yorkshire Tea.  The trees are being planted to create some forest areas in our lovely, vast outdoor space.

We will also plant a time capsule to show that the Class of 2017 planted the saplings and hope that in ten years time, these pupils will return to see the trees in full bloom!

We will observe our trees closely over time to see how they change as they grow. We all had great fun planting and the children were delighted with the result.
