Kelvinbridge / Friday, November 18, 2016 Rights Respecting Schools award

Many congratulations to the children and staff of the Prep School who have been awarded the UNICEF Level 2 Rights Respecting School award.

In November we were delighted to welcome Mr Tam Baillie, Scottish Commissioner for Children and Young People, who presented the Rights Respecting Committee with the award.

On their recent visit, UNICEF inspectors noted: A strong ethos of inclusion within the learning community. ‘People have the right to be respected’ and ‘to be inclusive’. Pupils have good opportunities to play a full and active part in the life of the school - for example, by becoming an elected member of the rights respecting steering group, eco-group, pupil council or learning council.
