The Glasgow Academy won second place in the 2019 J.P. Morgan Generation Tech Event on Saturday 8 June.
Generation Tech is an exciting technology design challenge hosted by J.P. Morgan for pupils interested in a STEM career.
Twenty teams took part in the event and each group was given the task of working collaboratively to design either an app or website using prototyping tools which would assist, solve or provide information on issues relating to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
The Goals address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, and peace and justice.
The Glasgow Academy team designed an app named ‘Allyapp’, aimed at helping users with additional support needs and won the ‘Reducing Inequalities’ category.
Congratulations to Enza Olcayto Doheny (S4), Louisa Herbert (S4), Allison Lavercombe (S4), and Emily Worthington (S4).
