Co-Curricular Activities

We encourage all our pupils to join in the many activities which The Academy offers both at lunchtimes and after school. Some of the clubs and groups which meet regularly are Eco, Rights Respecting Schools, Scripture Union, Pupil Council, the choirs and the string and wind groups.

From P5 upwards, pupils have a weekly activity time during which they can choose from a range of Co-Curricular activities. These activities might include art and craft, chess, Spanish, Italian, philosophy, theatre, sewing, football, fencing, archery and puppetry.

Regular instrumental tuition for Prep School children can be arranged with visiting specialist teachers who bill parents directly. The String and Flute Groups often play at morning assembly and give annual musical recitals.

At The Glasgow Academy, we continually look to offer a wide range of different opportunities for the children out with the classroom environment. We strive to introduce children to a variety of new activities and hope to spark an interest that will last a lifetime. The clubs we offer at The Academy Kelvinbridge Prep School can be found here.

Our children are offered any and every chance to enjoy Music. All Prep School classes from Prep 1 to 7 receive two lessons a week, with specialist highly trained Music teachers.

We strongly believe in the importance of a healthy body along with a healthy mind. Children are given a wide range of different opportunities to experience new sports through their Physical Education lessons.
