Niall Ferguson, Professor of History at Harvard University, described the late Ronnie Woods as ''the best of many great teachers I had at Glasgow Academy. He changed my life.''
To mark Ronnie’s contribution to education, The Academy is hosting The Ronnie Woods Memorial Lectures, a short series of public lectures with the aim of tying together history and the story of The Academy.

Topics include the story of Glasgow’s connections with the slave trade and the critical contribution of one of The Academy’s former pupils, James Bridie to some of Scotland’s most important cultural institutions.
