Congratulations to Tim Chan (Class of 2018) on gaining the highest combined exam results in Scotland, scored across all his Advanced Higher courses while a pupil at The Glasgow Academy.
Tim won the Scottish Qualifications Authority’s Academic Excellence award, presented this month in a spectacular ceremony at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow.
Tim studied jazz guitar and musicianship at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in the junior programme during his S6. He has Grade 8 in both voice and guitar and sang in three school choirs.
As the Captain of Athletics at school he loves triple jump, competing for the school, his local club and Team Glasgow.
He was a Sergeant in the school's RAF section, passing the Method of Instruction course.
Tim is now reading Physics at Keble College, Oxford.
