The Glasgow Academy Newlands had a wonderful day celebrating 100 years of education at the school site.
Formerly Dairsie House School, the building opened in 1919. The children dressed up in post-war costumes for the day, had a special assembly with Rev Fulton and a Q&A session with Prep. 2 teacher, Miss Gillan, who was a pupil at Dairsie House in the 1970s.
Cake and old fashioned games rounded the day off nicely and the children all received a specially commissioned bag to mark the occasion.
