Leadership Course

The entire incoming 6th Year are invited to attend a residential course at Lakeside YMCA in Cumbria, and participate in a variety of activities which involve both physical and mental elements.

The expectation is that this stimulates and encourages the development of interpersonal skills which we believe are important to maximising the benefit which is to be gained from Sixth Year at The Academy.

The days are filled with leadership tasks and learning about styles of learning and styles of leadership. In the evenings there are talks and workshop-type activities dealing with issues such as UCAS and Interview technique. There will also be time spent on the organisation of 6th Year Committees and the delegation of responsibilities for the forthcoming year.
