Clubs and Societies Preparing for a performance

We encourage pupils to join clubs which meet at lunchtime or after school catering for a range of tastes and interests. There are sporting clubs such as soccer, curling, sub aqua and basketball and general interest clubs such as bridge, chess and Scripture Union.

The Gavel Club provides senior pupils with the opportunity to develop their public speaking abilities in a friendly but competitive environment. The Literary and Debating Society provides a forum for pupils to learn the difficult but rewarding art of debating. Teams from both of these clubs have been very successful in national competition over the last few years.

A popular option with Sixth Year pupils is the Young Enterprise scheme. With the sponsorship of local firms, the pupils run their own company selecting, producing and marketing products under conditions simulating normal business.
