Modern Studies is an increasingly popular choice amongst pupils at the Glasgow Academy. Politics affects all areas of life and Modern Studies will help a pupil to gain an understanding of world events and issues both in the past and present. Armed with this information, a pupil will undoubtedly be better equipped to deal with a variety of issues and situations that they will face at school, university or in their future careers.

Modern Studies is studied by all pupils in S1 and is offered as an option to S2, alongside a number of other subjects, at The Glasgow Academy. Beyond that, the department offers Standard Grade, Higher and Advanced Higher courses.
