- to provide a wide choice of fiction titles to encourage an enjoyment of reading at all levels.
The Library holds over 10000 resources (books and CD-Roms). The stock is regularly reviewed and updated. There is a large Reference Section containing encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, statistics, directories. The Library takes two daily newspapers and subscribes to 24 journals. There are four networked computers with access to the Internet.
The Library is open to pupils and staff throughout the school day and also after school. Teachers bring classes to the Library to make use of the resources and the computers. The Librarian is always available to help with information retrieval. As part of their PSE classes, all pupils receive guidance in Library Skills and in Information Handling Skills to help them make effective use of the available resources.
