Football Club
Football Club for S1 and S2 pupils takes place every Friday from 4 - 5.30pm. It is a popular club, with 20 - 30 pupils regularly attending.
During the sessions, pupils work on the basic football skills of control, passing, and shooting, as well as on defensive play, attacking play, communication skills and teamwork.
Training is geared towards building an U14 team. Friendly fixtures will be arranged against other schools throughout the season, though this is in its infancy.
PE kit, trainers and shin pads should be worn. Football Club will take place on the astro-turf pitch at school and in the Sports Hall.
New players are welcome at any time.
Senior School Football Team
Training currently takes place on a Tuesday evening from 4 - 5.30pm. Training is open to any S4 - 6 pupil who wants to play for the Senior School Football team.
Training is well attended, with over 20 pupils participating. Players work on the same core skills as above, but at a higher level of difficulty. There is a greater emphasis on fitness. Squad meetings will be held prior to and after matches to prepare for games and analyse the team's performance.
The team is entered into the SISFA League.
PE kit, trainers and shin pads should be worn to all sessions. Training takes place at school on the astro-turf pitch whilst the weather allows. Further arrangements will be made for training in the winter, accommodation permitting.
Teacher in charge: Mr Ford.
