The Glasgow Academy P.T.A.
The new PTA has now been meeting for two years. In 2006 we held a very successful Prep School Ceilidh and every September we host a welcome evening for new parents. The fashion show in 2007 was a great success, raising over £3000. £2000 has been donated to charities being supported by the school pupils this year: Teenage Cancer Trust, Barnardo's, and The Scottish Society for Autism. The Highland Games in June 2008 was a further success, attracting hundreads of participants and spectators and raising around £3000. Much fun was had by all.
Our uniform sales in January and June raise considerable sums for the school and are a great way to pick up sports kit, older boys' jumpers and girls' pinafores/skirts especially. They are also a great place to stock up for spares and enjoy a cup of tea, chat and advice from mums.
As a committee we aim to keep you up-to-date with a summary of key issues arising from the meetings, as well as a diary of forthcoming events.
