Dairsie Nursery

Our small afternoon Nursery class at Dairsie offers an excellent start to children's education by building confidence and fostering independence. It is a cheerful, friendly and busy place to be.

Children settle quickly into the small secure environment.  Many activity choices, following the 3-5 Guidelines and Curriculum for Excellence, are offered to the children by the same small team of staff who work with the Kindergarten, thus giving continuity and an easy transition into this next stage of development.

Children have lots of opportunities for physical activity. Every afternoon the children are outside in the playground for at least 20 minutes' active play. There are opportunities for developing skills on bikes and scooters and play with balls and bats. They can climb on the logs and play with others or have a quiet time with their own thoughts.

A healthy snack is provided during both morning and afternoon sessions. Children’s preferences are considered and children are regularly consulted in the planning of the menus.

Like Kindergarten, all Nursery children brush their teeth after their snack. Brushes are provided by the school.
