Educational excursions are a normal part of our pupils' experience at The Academy. Two special trips do deserve a mention, however. In P6, as a normal part of the summer term work, pupils are given the chance to go to Abernethy Outdoor Centre in the Cairngorms where they experience many exciting outdoor activities such as canoeing and abseiling.
Also in the summer term, P7 have a week's residential visit to enjoy a range of activities as part of their environmental studies work. In recent years they have visited Lochranza on Arran: from 2014 they will visit Benmore Centre by Dunoon for an outdoor learning experience that builds on skills developed at Abernethy.
